A few days ago I was interviewed on the radio by Jeffrey Callison of our local Sacramento NPR affiliate Capital Public Radio. The interview was 20 minutes long, and we chatted mostly about Simply Recipes, how it got started, the kind of food we cook, and the impact the readers have on the site. If you are a regular reader of Simply Recipes, I thought you might like to listen to the interview. Details can be found on the Insight section of the Capital Public Radio website. The Simply Recipes segment starts 20 minutes into the program, about a third of the way through (you can move the slider to skip ahead if you want)
In the interview I mentioned my father shooting squirrels for making squirrel stew during the depression. Dad told me later he thought I was going to start talking about his walking twelve miles to school everyday, barefoot in the snow. (Doesn’t everyone’s father have a story like that?) I think he was relieved that we didn’t go in that direction. Actually, I think he was even more amazed that I was able to string a few coherent sentences together. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the interview. A big thank you to Jeffrey Callison and the talented staff at Capital Public Radio for the opportunity to fill the local airwaves with praise of pot roasts and enchiladas.
Simply Recipes has been getting some public notice lately. See the Press section of this site for the latest.
