I LOVE your site and have it on my homepage! I am always trying new recipes, I guess cooking is my hobby you could say. I made your orange marinated chicken with Spanish rice last week and we loved it! Hope you and your family have a Happy and healthy New Year.

  18. Billie

Happy New Year Elise and tell your parents they did a great job in raising you. When I read your blogs it reminds me of my mum and dad, they have since passed, however you invoke wonderful “kitchen” memories of my parents. My dad, Mike didn’t cook as many things as your dad, but what he did was the greatest. His speciality was cheesey eggs. Food is the center of all holidays and everyday living. Your site is my favorite as well. My 14 year old daughter and my 15 year old neice have begun cooking and I told them to go to your site for ideas, instructions and recipes. I told them, they cook “like us”. My mum, Eleanor was a fantastic cook, she was Lithuanian, and my dad was Croation. Between the two of them, many delicious dishes have been eaten. I have now begun to teach my girls how to make stuffed cabbage and other ethnic foods to carry on the family tradtions. That is the theme for your site Elise, tradition, never lose sight of that, that is want makes this site so successful. God Bless you and grant you the desires of your heart in 2009.
