What Is the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale?
The Amazon Prime Early Access Sale starts Tuesday, October 11 at 12 AM PDT and runs through 11:59 PM PDT on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Similar to Amazon’s Prime Day, which has been happening annually since 2015, the Prime Day deals event will be an enormously popular event for the millions of Prime members who want even better prices. It is a several-day stretch of insane deals (often rivaling those you’ll find on Cyber Monday or similar events) and is a bit exclusive.
The Amazon Prime Early Access Sale is only available to Prime members who pay annual dues (or about $15 per month) to get free Prime shipping and other benefits from Amazon. If you’re not a member, this may be the best time to get on board. You can sign up for a free 30-day membership online to get access to the deals—just remember to cancel if you don't want to continue.
How Can I Find the Best Deals During the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale?
There are a few ways to get ahead of the big day. First, download the Amazon app or install the Amazon Assistant browser tool. “Every year is a little different, but you may receive advanced notice of deals, and you can ask to be notified that items you are interested in go on sale," says Trae Bodge, smart shopping and deals expert.
There are also always “lightning deals,” which last an even more limited time and have a more limited quantity, but are typically even better offers, so keep an eye out for these alerts, too. When the time comes, you can also check the “upcoming deals” section to see what’ll be discounted soon (and prepare your cart, if you’re really ahead of things!). You can also click “Watch this Deal” to get notifications about a specific item’s price.
Bodge’s top insider tip, though, is to take advantage of your Alexa-enabled smart speaker. If you have one, just say, "Keep me updated on the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale."
What Were the Best Deals During July’s Prime Day Sale?
While every section and category of items saw countless major sales, shoppers snapped up the Vitamix 5200 Blender and the Vitamix Professional Series 750 Blender, the Anova Culinary AN500-US00 Sous Vide Precision Cooker, the MEATER Plus Smart Meat Thermometer with Bluetooth, and the COSORI Food Dehydrator. If you’re in need of new tech gear, the Apple AirPods Pro Wireless Earbuds were a Prime Day hit and could sell out if they’re available during the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale.
