Cecilia has been working as a food writer and photographer since 1999, including as a freelance contributor and restaurant reviewer for the LA Times Food section, where she was also one of Jonathan Gold's restaurant scouts.
Cecilia is a James Beard Award nominee. Her cookbook was chosen as Best of the Best from Food + Wine, as Gourmet magazine's cookbook of the month, and was nominated for the Gourmand World Cookbook awards. Her recipes have been chosen in the Top 10 of the Year for LA Times 2 years in a row.
Cecilia has taught cooking classes all over the world, including at the Korea Society in New York and Sur la Table. She is currently producing an episode for Proof (America's Test Kitchen's podcast). She appeared on Guy's Grocery Games (on the Food Network). She has written for Simply Recipes, Eating Well, Gourmet, Food + Wine, Eater, The Washington Post (food section), Vice (Munchies), Serious Eats, Epicurious, Farmer-ish, Los Angeles magazine, The Los Angeles Times (food section), Frommers, Thrillist, Whole Life Times, Edible (LA and SLO), and others.
