Easy French Toast on plate with butter and syrup

"I needed a French toast recipe as I had a slightly stale country white sourdough that needed to be used today. Made without cinnamon (glaring omission but having to make do with a limited pantry), but added the fresh orange zest and dry curaçao. So delicious! It was the first time making French toast with artisan bread so next time, I will let the pieces soak a bit longer before adding to the pan. The orange flavor was absolutely lovely and we didn’t miss the cinnamon at all." -Twinkle
