Summer vegetable grilled pizza topped with halved tomatoes, black olives, cheese, zucchini ribbons and sliced potatoes. The pizza is on a slate background and a piece on the right is pulled away from the rest of the pizza.

This August was certainly different than any other August in my memory. Our family spent most of it in our backyard, enjoying the mild Seattle summer weather with our two rambunctious kiddos.

Thankfully there were many familiar things, too: tons of tomatoes and zucchini, homemade ice cream and popsicles, and pizza on the grill (we tried it for the first time; what took us so long?!)

Judging from our most popular recipes this past month, a lot of you were eating from your gardens and taking advantage of the great summer bounty that late August affords. Let's see what you were cooking!
