Joey Skladany

Joey is a writer/editor, TV/radio personality, lifestyle expert, former entertainment publicist and author of Basic Bitchen (Simon & Schuster, 2020). He was most recently editor-at-large of CBS Interactive's Chowhound where he managed the site's food and travel editorial content.

Currently, he is owner and CEO of Beyond Basic LLC. His work is frequently featured in major outlets like People, Food52, Apartment Therapy, Saveur, BRIDES, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, and Simply Recipes. In addition, he was the host of Awesomeness TV's Dish This, co-host on The Taylor Strecker Show, Verizon Media's In the Know: Live Cooking and has appeared on Wendy Williams, Entertainment Tonight, CNN, HLN, NBC, CBS, SiriusXM and other networks and stations.

Prior to a career in writing, he was a publicist for TLC, serving as the PR lead for the network's highest-rated series like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, My Strange Addiction and My Crazy Obsession. In his spare time, he enjoys volleyball, worshipping Beyoncé, fine dining, writing depressing poetry, interior design and perfecting his stand-up comedy routine.
