I used an every day seasoning blend and some olive oil .. but the egg and light breadcrumbs made all the difference!! When they came out od the air fryer I drizzled with hoisin sauce. We had this at a restaurant recently and I was trying to recreate it. Mission accomplished!! :D
We tried this recipe today and they came out great. We used pork rinds instead of bread crumbs but with a little hot sauce they were fantastic.
So good!!! Yummy!!
This was excellent! So easy and SO, SO YUMMY!
total fail for me. the coating didnt stick to the cauliflower and it never got crispy
Sorry to hear that! I’m curious, what kinds of breadcrumbs did you use–panko, or the traditional kind that are finer?
We we’re trying to mimic a fried recipe from our favorite restaurant. It was a great alternative! I would suggest a bit more spice, I added some to the bread crumbs as well. Not a big blue cheese fan. We used a mayo, light sour cream, siracha to taste. Thanks, this was fantastic!
We’ve been making something like this for years, par boiling the cauliflower, dipping in egg whites and breading in corn flake crumbs. Deep fried until golden brown and served with a cheese sauce. Might have to try these though
We wanted to recreate a deep fried cauliflower side from a local restaurant. This recipe was quick, easy and full of flavor and a bit healthier than the deep fried version. I didn’t have any spay oil, so brushed a bit on after cooking for 5 minutes. The breading was surprisingly sturdy (i.e. it didn’t just fall off). A new favorite. Thanks Nick!
I’ve never used the convection setting on my oven before – would this be the kind of recipe that would benefit from it?
I’ve been making something like this for years, except I use whipped egg whites (meringue) that I dip the par cooked florets then coat in corn flake crumbs in. I haven’t tried baking and have been only deep frying. The cornflake crumbs go so well with the cauliflower. I usual just make a simple cheddar sauce for dipping.
