  • Prep time: 6 minutes
  • Chill time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 1/2 cup, or 8 (1-tablespoon) servings

  • 3 ounces blue cheese, crumbled plus more for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

1 Combine the ingredients in a medium bowl: Stir together blue cheese, buttermilk, sour cream, garlic clove, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, ground mustard powder, and salt.

If a creamier sauce is desired, blend with an immersion blender or in a food processor.

2 Refrigerate the sauce: Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes for flavors to blend.

3 Serve: Use immediately and garnish with additional crumbled blue cheese or transfer to an airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to a week.
