Yes! Thank you for a buff chix dip recipe that doesn’t use bottled ranch (blech!) Sour cream and mayo with the right seasonings, and bleu cheese on top make this perfect. I used half cheddar and mozzarella to make it less greasy. So yummy!
Would minced onion work instead of granulated onion? I have onion powder and minced onion, but not granulated onion. Nothing sure what a suitable substitution would be.
Onion powder is granulated onion.
If I don’t have a stand mixer could I use a food processor to mix this up? Anyone tried that and if so how did it turn out?
Hi, D! You could use the food processor to make the cheese/sour cream base (step 2), but then transfer it to a bowl and stir in the shredded chicken with a spoon or spatula. Enjoy!
Oh boy!! We are making this tomorrow to enjoy with the World Series Game #1. Looks scrumptious! GO DODGERS :)
Hooray! Let us know what you think!!!
I don’t consider it buffalo chicken dip if you use ranch! Nobody in Buffalo would be caught dead using anything but Blue Cheese :)
I am with you! I do like the Ranch/hot sauce combo, but don’t call it Buffalo! Frank and Theresa are turning over in their graves! That being said, I have made this and it is really good. I call it Spicy Ranch Chicken Dip.
Sounds simple enough, I will give it a try. I love Franks Hot Sauce, so any excuse to use it…I am all in! Thanks for sharing!
This sounds great – but I’ll probably used bottled Ranch. (I found that the key ingredient is the dried dill. It will rev up bottled dressing that is a little blah.)
I plan to take it to a Christmas buffet we attend every year instead of my usual artichoke dip..
