Absolutely damn delicious !
Just made this and it turned out bomb!
This was really good and simple to make. Baking it is a good move. I always add extra cheese to Mac and Cheese recipes, too. I may try it with some Buffalo Sauce in the Cheese mixture next time.
So glad you liked this, Monty. Frank’s Red Hot–the classic hot sauce in Buffalo sauce–is just about my favorite thing to put on homemade mac and cheese. The vinegar-y heat contrasts so nicely with the creamy cheese sauce.
Honestly this recipe is AWESOME my family likes it especially my kids. I didn’t expect that it turn out so yummy since i used kid’s milk and no mustard , I didn’t put onion and garlic since my kids doesn’t like it so just milk, flour, cheese , broccoli and chicken . I’m so amazed how the breadcrumbs can add flavor to the food.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Ps. I never comment to any food blog/vlog before That used to make ONLY this RECIPE
Hooray, so glad this was a hit, Nhorien!
Can this be cooked and then frozen for future use?
Yes, you may certainly freeze this!
Awesome. I am going on it right away.
I think it’s taste yummy and the instruction to cook it are so easy
Awesome recipe! Followed it exactly. My family loved it. Second time I made it I added half cup more milk and put it in a casserole dish with the bread crumbs on top and baked at 350 for 25 minutes. It was fabulous! And it stayed super creamy! Definitely add the dried mustard!
I made this tonight, but skipped the onions because I didn’t have any on hand. I think next time I would skip the breadcrumbs as well, I didn’t see a lot of added value really…
8 ounces of dry macaroni by weight or is that a one cup measure?
Hi Christine, that would be by weight.
Followed recipe exactly using oven method… everybody loved it! Served with a salad.
I add broccoli to my Chicken Mac and Cheese. Mac and Cheese is a base for any addition to dress it up, like ham bits, pimiento, green onion, beans, chili to name a few. Love it.
Also great with Tuna subbing for the Chicken.
Nice! For me, I would just replace the chicken with Honey Baked Ham in cube size. So that when it’s eaten, there will be a chewy yet succulent texture.
Can this be made in a crock pot for potlucks? or if not made in it at least kept warm?
Hi, Carol! Emma here, managing editor for Simply Recipes. I’m not sure about making it in the crockpot, but you could definitely keep it warm in one. Have a little milk handy so you can stir it in if the mac and cheese thickens up too much. Let us know how it works out!
This sounds soooooooooooooooo good!!
