Just made this and it’s delish. I used half the lavender the recipe called for because I have dried lavender and it is STRONG. I infused it for thirty minutes and followed the rest of the directions exactly. My son found it tart but liked it, the rest of the fam (myself included) found it perfect. Thank you for the recipe! I was searching for that “klss” of lavender flavor. LOVE this!!
I’m so glad you liked it Nene!
We have 2 lemon trees in our backyard and 2 lavender plants, 1 in front and 1 in back. This recipe is my “go to” recipe when it is hot outside….today 103 tomorrow predicted 106…..I highly recommend this particular recipe!!
Very refreshing, and the smell of the Organic fragrant lavender flowers! I used Swerve Confectioners Sugar Replacement and only used 1/3 cup of Meyer fresh lemons (2). Love it!
Love it! I also have a few lavender plants in my yard
This recipe is delicious!
This lemonade is amazing! I always get requests for it. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, as some only care for lavender scented bath products but the majority of people love it so much that I end up making more! Love it!!! Btw, I double the recipe.
I’m delighted you like the lavender lemonade Tiffany!
Great recipe if followed exactly according to the directions. Nice balance of flavors and quite tasty!
Thank you so much. As an herbalist I have been cringing every time the lemon-aid with lavender essential oil recipe gets shared. I am so excited to share this much much better option!
I bought a pound of fried culinary lavender because my family and I were always drinking london fogs and buying them from starbucks so much wasn’t the healthiest or best on our bank account. I’ve been wondering what to use it for besides the tea and found this recipe. I love it!
My 9 year old and I picked lemons and lavender from our garden and made this today. It was so good that we’re making a second batch!
So I just finished making this and it’s heavenly!! I didn’t realize squeezing lemons would be so therapeutic haha, this recipe will definitely be saved and passed around to everyone, thank you!
Can I just use lavender leaves if my plant doesn’t have flowers yet? The leaves are quite fragrant…..
Hi, Christine! Emma here, managing editor. Sure, give it a try! Let us know how it works out!
Thank you for sharing, loved it!!!
This was a great drink
I just had this yesterday and had to STOP myself from drinking it all and saving some for others LOL. Loveeeee it. Can anyone tell me the difference between lav flowers versus leaves ? The person who made the lemonade gave me a jar of what looks like seeds to use. Are those the flowers or leaves ? I don’t know where to get more though
Hi Missy, I know they look like seeds but what you are probably seeing are the flowers; the individual flowers are seed shaped. If you google “culinary lavender” you should be able to find some for sale online.
I use 2c. green tea instead of the 2c. water, and 1/3c. to 1/2c. zero-calorie artificial sweetener instead of the 1c. sugar which makes my teeth hurt even to think about. DELISH!
So, is it best to use dried lavender, or lavender oil?
Never use lavender oil. Lavender oil is extracted from a variety of lavender that is high in camphor oil – which you won’t like the taste of, believe me. You want actual lavender, specifically culinary lavender, which is low in camphor oil and far tastier.
I saw a version of this where it had a lovely lavender color, have you any idea how they could have done this? Obviously I would like to avoid food coloring.
1 cup of raw honey
12 cups of pure water
1 drop of lavender essential oil
Lavender sprigs for garnish
Peel and juice the six fresh lemons. Thoroughly mix all ingredients together and chill.
Adjust to desire taste by adding more honey or water, if desired.
I saw that too, they said they added purple sugar!
Where can I find lavender? I don’t think they have it at the grocery store.
You can buy it online at Amazon
Penzeys. My go to for all spices. It doesn’t list it on their website but if you call they will add it to you order. They also have it in their stores.
I have gotten my dried lavender at World Market.
