I made two batches of this. One regular, and in one I added about 1 and a half cups of blackberries to the boiling sugar with the lime zest. Both were delicious!!! If you have any frozen blackberries on hand – I’d highly recommend it!
This is an easy recipe and even to make some adjustments to. I’m not a mint fan so I eliminated that, but added some blackberries when making the simple syrup (smash with a fork while coming to a boil). I also used Tryvia ( be sure to only use half the amount as compared to the recipe). Delicious and refreshing!
it takes like 5 min to make its delicious i love it :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> AND IT MAKES A LOT yum yum.
I just made this with a bag of limes that were (almost) past and WOW! Was this ever delicious! I am a huge mojito fan plus I grow mint so you can bet I will make this again in the summer!
Good recipe, but I found the lime rind made it a little bitter and I only used 1 tsp.
wow! i just made this. i thought that wasn’t gonna be enough water but it was perfect. i did add a splash of club soda to my glass on ice but that is a fine recipe! thank you!
This is so good (the lemonade, too). I’ve had a jar of one or the other, or both, in my refrigerator much of the summer. I’ve also combined it with Mark Bittman’s recipe for salty limeade or lemonade: http://bitten.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/25/featured-recipe-sweet-or-salty-limeade-or-lemonade/
This drink was delicious! I made it for my family on a hot summer day. They said it tasted like something we would get at a restaurant while we were on vacation and I agree! If you let it chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours with sprigs of mint in it then the mint flavor really comes out and makes it fantastic. Thanks for the recipe!
Sounds delish! You can also infuse the simply syrup with the mint itself. It is especially nice when you make mojitos because people don’t complain about the mint leaves getting stuck in their straws.
What a great drink! I collected all the mint I could gather from my meager plant and crushed it to let out the flavor. It lent a mojito-esque flavor to it. Thanks a lot!!
Would lemonade be made the exact same way?
Yes indeed. ~Elise
I make a similar limeaid, but instead of mint I steep a few coins of ginger in the simple syrup.
