To make a 'Perfect Manhattan' use 2 ounces rye whiskey, 1/4 ounce sweet (Italian) vermouth, 1/4 ounce dry (French) vermouth, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters.
- 2 ounces rye whiskey (or bourbon)
- 1/2 ounce sweet (Italian) vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Orange peel or cocktail cherry for garnish, optional
