I have found this recipe many years ago and it is still a favorite of mine. I just had to share this with a friend across US who remembered it from our parties and wants to make it for her own New Year’s Eve party. Thank you, Elise!
These are yummy, and easy to make, but where is the nutritional info per serving???
Hi, Wendy! We don’t currently calculate nutritional information on our recipes. I’d recommend using an online nutritional calculator like this one. Thanks!
Thank you Elise for this incredible recipe. I made it for friends and family on Christmas Eve and it was a big hit. I got so many compliments!
I’m so glad you liked it Beth!
This recipe looks wonderful.
Could you please tell me if I toast the baguette slices before spreading with the olive mixture?
Hi Beth, no you do not toast the baguette slices first.
This is a killer appetizer! I make this everytime I have friends coming over or bring it with me whenever I’m invited, it’s sooo goooood! And totally addictive as well. I used Gouda cheese as I live in Belgium and we don’t have Monterey jack cheese here but I think those are quite similar. Thanks sooo much for this recipe! Just thinking about it makes me dribble ^_^
Can I just say, that I always think of this wonderful appetizer whenever I invite people over? I just love the taste of olives, garlic (did I not forget to say “garlic”?!), parsley, and cheese, all on the crunchy piece of bread. Sooo good. A little piece of heaven. I absolutely love it, and so does everyone that ever tried (and ate it) at my house. Thanx a lot!
Made this last night when a few friends popped in! I had everything on hand and it came together quick. The spread was DELICIOUS! All my friends loved it as well and asked for the recipe. I’ve directed them to Simply Recipes, of course :)
Made these for a party recently and they were a big hit – so much so I didn’t even get a chance to try one! Thanks for the great recipe :)
Love, love, love this recipe — as have my guests, young & old. Easy to make, inexpensive appetizer that adds pizzaz to basic everyday olives. Used a tad less butter. I’m also wondering if anyone has experience freezing & using small amounts as needed?
I love this recipe! I made it once last night and found it so delicious that I couldn’t help but make it again. It’s a great appetizer at a dinner party, and a totally satisfying snack too. Yum!
I made this last week and it is to die for! Perfect blend of flavors. Thanks for sharing!
I have been making this since last yearand I love it! Costco has an excellent Olive Tapenade that I use for a quick appetizer with crackers.
Finally decided to use the tapenade for this recipe and it was even better(which I didnt think was possible!)
I made these, do you think rinsing the olives a bit would help make it less salty??
This is a great recipe! I just made these with a slight variation: I can’t get monterey jack in France so I used diced fresh mozzarella, and I added chopped fresh basil. It was really good!
I made these, and am going to be making them again this week! They are soooo yummy! The recipe is perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Those look delicious and the pictures are so adorable!
