I would really like to know how many calories in a serving of this soup? We both think it is delicious.
Hi, Bettie! We don’t currently calculate nutritional information on our recipes. I’d recommend using an online nutritional calculator like this one.
Delish! I did add some leftover chopped onion and a clove if garlic only because it was available. I had frozen turkey meatballs which made this soup quick to come together.
I was thinking of using breadcrumbs (such as panko) in the meatballs instead of sliced bread. Would it still be okay to drop the ‘uncooked’ meatballs in the soup to cook if I use a panko type crumb?
That should be fine, yes. Happy soup-making!
This was so delicious! We loved it! I used 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs in the meatballs and cooked them in the oven at 400 for 20 minutes before adding them to the soup. I would chop the spinach next time and add less salt to the broth! Wonderful recipe! Definitely will make again!
Can you use frozen precooked turkey meatballs?
Hi, Suzanne! Yes, you can use frozen meatballs if you’d rather.
Excellent, easy, healthy and macro-friendly soup! I added zucchini to meatballs, changed to egg white only and garlic cloves to the broth. Yum! A definite keeper!
AMAZING. I made this today and added half an onion and added fresh thyme and fresh rosemary and a bay leaf. Perfect for a rainy day.
I made this tonight, it was really tasty and easy, though the meatballs took most of the time. I made those a little bit smaller, like bite-sized, to fit on the spoon. Definitely a keeper!
Excellent soup! I used ground chicken instead of turkey. Quick, easy and super yummy!
What a lovely dish. “Orzo” pasta is very popular. In Italian orzo means barley and this type of pasta is generally known there as “pastina”.. which I grew up with and I love!
Fabulous recipe as always!
This soup looks amazing!
